[End-game Spoilers] Stuck on 39 fish....

So I'm at the part before boarding the starship up to lenegis. I've defeated all of the boss monsters except the wind and earth temples. I just finished the Advanced fights in Viscint. I decided I want to get all the fish and I've gotten everything except the Silver Merlin...

Problem... Silver Merlin requires a special lure that you get at 40 fish I think, I'm at 39... I just went to every single fishing spot and didn't find any fish I missed. Talking to the master fisher, he says to go to the Fright Cargo and no other area to get a fish. But the only fish left to get there is the Silver Merlin... So effectively, I'm stuck.

Is there an area after one of the temples? Or did the game glitch?

Yeah, the reward for 40th fish is the silver fang lure for marlin. However if you go to Tuah Seashore you'll receive a side quest and will be able to travel to an island where you can catch the last 4 fish.

Buy lures from all the towns?

You can get a Silver Marlin easily from the Wharf, but it does take a while for it to spawn since its a boss fish.

Just keep tossing your lure into the jump ponds for a slightly better chance unless you get the lure.

Going to Lenegis isn't the Point of No Return, so just continue to play.

You can do it even after the Point of No Return, i am close to finishing it myself since i left fishing for after i finished the game.

They sure as hell make it sound like it is. A I think the npc's explicitly said to finish up anything we wanted to do before going almost 3 times in a row during the cutscenes. So thought this was the point of no return.

It should pop when you enter the area, if it doesn't. Do lenegis and the stuff up to the final dungeon and it definitely will. That'll also unlock the rest of the owls.

There's an uninhabited island if you get a subquest that doesn't appear on fast travel going to where you washed up on the beach and lost your fire sword for a bit and unlocked when the final dungeon is unlocked. After this you go to the hidden warf and go to the uninhabited island where there is fishing spot.

It should pop when you enter the area, if it doesn't. Do lenegis and the stuff up to the final dungeon and it definitely will. That'll also unlock the rest of the owls.

I think only the boss rush sub quest and the ex dungeon was endgame. I think you had to unlock the last dungeon on Rena after Lenegis for 68/70 quests to be available. You also can't fast travel until Rena at the point as well.

I did it before finishing while gathering the rest of the owls. Its definitely unlocked as soon as you drop on the final dungeon but i wasn't sure if it was before that or.not.

After unlocking Special Owls, go to Ganath Haros > Tuah Seashore. This side quest unlocks the Uninhabited Island from the Mahag Sar Hidden Wharf. There will be at least 5 fish you haven't caught yet.
