This game has extremely bad pacing towards end game.

The games pacing is pretty decent for the first 90% of the game as far as tales games go anyway. I mean there was one time when i went into camp and there were 3 5 minute long skits followed by another 5 minute long bonding episode and then there was another skit because i cooked a new recipe. So i went to recharge my cp and ended up spending 30 minute in camp. But in general the pacing was really good and i just want to put it out there that i love the skits and cut scenes. But towards the end of the game there are sections with over 2 hours of straight cut scenes, walking and skits followed by 5 minutes of combat followed by another 2 hours of cut scenes,walking and skits. It just turns an otherwise great game into tedious endurance test.

I mean, i watch a few Lets Play´s of the game currently and nearly everyone is gushing about the "awesome story" and how great the characters are.
The streamers and the viewers.

So either i missed something when playing or most people are REALLY easy pleased by subpar stories as long as the graphics are shiny.

"Media" are people and people can have different taste. Journalists are not objective and nobody can be objective to begin with when you have to deal with piece of art. So saying "they were lying" is dumb, like if i like something and you don't i'm a liar ? Just think about it please...

reviewers are part of the 'marketing' budget, give a company too many bad reviews and kiss goodbye to your review codes and ad revenue that comes from review videos/articles

everyone know this industry is fake and bought. I just find it funny that all this story criticism is coming from steam users who bought the game with their own cash and not the shills who got free copies, coincidence I think not

Well the story starts off alright...but over time the skits after skits after cutscenes wears you down and manages to say absolutely nothing...just repeat similar if not exactly the same information presented in the cutscene lol. I didn't have super high hopes for the story, but the gameplay is what sold me to begin with. Don't buy this for the story lol.

The 5th lord is indeed not even close to the end of the game.
Its like the 70% mark at most. Half is a bit overblown.
But there comes a lot after that.

The final lord is the "halfway point" of the game, which is traditional in Tales games. It's when the actual true plot reveals itself and everything opens up.

50% is about right, actually, because you will unlock a LOT of sidequests after defeating him and extra dungeons, etc.

But yeah, honestly, first half of the game is a lot stronger than the second IMO.

Pacing was too fast for most of the game to the point the ending seems terrible in comparison.
So eh
