XP DLC's
Hello,

Ive been wanting the game for a while, but the dlc bit puts me off with xp levels, boosts and coins, If i dont have these dlcs will it be a heavy grind or can i just do it on easy?

The XP DLCs are wholly unnecessary. You can follow the game without grinding up until the final boss, even without the small level boost the DLCs give you at the beginning.

I only started grinding during post-game to get ready for the bonus dungeon and getting to level 100, and even that wasn't too extensive. DLCs wouldn't have helped.

I'll extend on that since you haven't gotten the game yet for when you do...

Don't use any XP boosting bonuses in-game from food and other sources, either. It is a complete waste. The game uses a very aggressive exp curve and if you are only 2-3 levels above the enemies you will get almost no exp while if you are underleveled you will be propelled quite quickly in levels until you catch up.

In short, you cannot be excessively under leveled or over leveled in the game normally.

As a more extreme example, I did not have the bonus level DLC stuff but I did beat some optional (basically post game) super bosses that were around level 70 when I was way lower level. They made my level skyrocket past anything in the base game and I basically beat the base game without leveling up again before post game content.

Rather, you will want to typically use food buffs that recover TP to use for healing (or directly HP) or defensive buffs (these are actually really good, use them over attack buffs for harder fights).

The game has basically no real grinding for the most part. Even your skill level upgrade can be grinded very easily by a trick. Get the artifact that makes all dmg hit for 1 dmg (both at and from enemies) and then set AI to use the skill(s) you want to level and go afk for like 30 mins to an hour or watch a show or something. Come back to it being max level. Use the instant death mechanic from combos to finish the fight (you will learn this mechanic in a tutorial as you play).

Save your money and temporarily use cheat engines like wemod or download mods if you feel like you need them later.

I got the game and I am glad I did not buy the extras as I like to work for anything that I can get in game w/o paying extra. But is everything listed as extra DLC can be earned w/o paying, just to be sure.
