I lost my 100% completion achievement.
I had previously achieved a 100% completion in this game. However, due to an upcoming DLC and additional content, new achievements have been added, and I am no longer at 100% completion. Is this normal on Steam? I rarely play for achievements here, as I mostly focus on PlayStation. On PlayStation, they separate base game achievements from DLC ones. So, if you've already earned a platinum trophy (which represents 100% completion), you retain it even if you've never played the DLC or added content

So if they add achievements for DLC, you can't platinum a game unless you also do the DLC... and in some cases this is impossible for a while cause like in Resident Evil 4's case... they added achievements for the DLC months before they even announced the DLC was coming much less when it actually released.

Yep. If the 100% completion is that important to you, then you will need to buy the DLC and complete it fully.

Technically, that's the way it should be, because did you really 100% the game if DLC comes out and you don't buy or play it?

I cant believe they actually did the same ♥♥♥♥ like Capcom lmao (including DLC mandatory for the achievement)

Technically it's not anyone's fault.
As this is how achievements even worked on xbox 360 era.
If a DLC comes out they get counted so you either pay for DLC or you miss on 100% achievement score (gamerscore at the time).

What they mean is it's normal that if a DLC adds achievements it gets added to the total achievements from the main game. Main game and DLC achievements aren't separated is what they're saying, and that is totally accurate.

It's totally irrelevant what another studio does here, because if a game has DLC that adds achievements it always gets added in with the main game, and you will lose your 100% if you had it.

It's the way it should be also. If a game has an expansion DLC and you don't own or play it, then did you really 100% the game? Nope.

If 100% means that much to someone then just put up the money and earn it back, otherwise just ignore it and move onto whatever other games you're working on.

im pretty sure including DLC in the achievement isn't normal, im pretty sure The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt, Cyberpunk 2077 both have expansion DLC but they didnt add it in the achievemeent (cmiiw)

and in the context i replied for the guy say "Thats normal for the steam" while the achievement things are purely come from Developers or Publishers.

And its kinda ruined the "Perfect Games" list on my steam profiles when they really did adding new Achievement for a game that i already 100% it

If a DLC has achievements they're always added in with the achievements of the main game. Always. That's how it works on Steam, because they're counted as teh same game. If the game is standalone and a separate entry on Steam, then they are separate.

The Witcher 3 had achievements added with both Heart of Stone and Blood and Wine, and you would have lost your "100%" with those games also. If Cyberpunk Expansion has new achievements, then you will lose "100%" with that game also.

That is the way it works on Steam and it's totally normal.

If "Perfect Games" are that important to you, then you should buy the DLC Expansions for games that have them, because your "100%" will be ruined every single time if the DLC has achievements.

You didn't "100%" the game anymore either, so you should lose it. If an Expansion comes out and you don't buy and play it then did you actually 100% the game? Nope, not at all.

The publisher controls how achievements are dealt with and yes they can separate them by DLC, theres even a way to not bother making them separate and just not ruin the 100% as long as you dont reinstall the game (i have some like that) but again, thats up to the publisher

Attack On Titan 2, it have expansion called Final Battle or something containing additional new stories and new gameplay mechanic, it should be a proof of not every Expansion need to add additional achievements
