1-Tales Of Arise
2-Tales Of Zesteria
3-Scarlet Nexsus
One of the best for sure.
None of that is true, but you wouldn't know that because you didn't even get past the opening.
And I can easily point to at least a few better JRPGs on Steam from the top of my head: FF VII Remake, Persona 4 Golden, Nier: Automata, The whole Legends of Heroes series is amazing, oh right and Persona 5 Royal also came out recently. Oh, almost forgot the Yakuza series somehow, and Judgment games. And there's also Dragon Quest XI, both an absolutely amazing game, but also the most JRPG game out of all the JRPGs I've listed so if any game qualifies as the "best JRPG", it's definitely that one
There are also others that I personally prefer but they don't really qualify as amazing, maybe just really good or good: Disgaea 5 and 4, Atelier Ryza, Ys VIII, Bravely Default 2. There's definitely way more, this is just the stuff that came to mind while writing this.
Xillia 2 is my personal favourite, but only if you're played the first game (Graces is best standalone experience, I agree). Why? Best battle system iteration, good and likeable characters (especially if you played the first Xillia and have that connection), I really liked the story themes in the game which were quite serious and philosophical at times. And oh god the end of the game is absolutely heart wrenching, regardless which ending you get really, it's all just different flavours of bittersweet sadness.
But.. The story is very meh.. I would rate the story very low compared to the rest of the Tales franchise. (Kind of surprised honestly, when the games before this one had pretty good stories)
I would say it doesn't make my top 3 Tales of games. That would be Abyss, Symphonia and Vesperia. They just have better and stronger stories/characters, way more memorable imo.
But I respect your opinion and I would just say that the Tales of series in general is some of the best JRPGs period.
These are my main gripes with it and enuff for me to not even finish the game in the end because i had enough. Would not rate it best.
Mediocre.
lol, maybe story wise you could argue that. But gameplay wise? Even FFX-2 has better gameplay than FFX, there's not even a point in comparing it to Arise.
Fact's. FFX is amazing, but its a PS2 game. Super limited vs Arise gameplay and effects.
Funny. To me, comparing them is silly because it's a different combat system. FFX has quite a good system, actually. Story-wise, however, FFX is mushy and fumbles it's own (good) concepts and themes most of the time, because the actual story-telling is poor.
