Maybe we can get free bathwear costumes inside the game.

bruh, the game already has a modding comunity before it's even out, give it a few weeks and you will have all the lewd costumes you want without needing dlcs

Ya, true the "Beach Time Packs" are in the game. But they are hardly lewd, the guys have a shirt on, and the girls aren't even showing cleavage.

While i love and respect the modding community for what they do, I don't think they should be expected to do the work of the developers. Let's not beat around the bush, we weebs(otaku if you prefer) are a horny bunch. The devs must know this, so why not give their audience what they want in the product that they are selling?

Ever since the first of many obligatory beach/hot spring/fanservice episodes in nearly all anime. Its one of the first things ppl ask for. Look at Genshin, ppl where excited for the summer event b4 the game even came out.

Hell even the devs of this very game are aware of the desire for lewd outfits. I mean while the "beach time" costumes are tame, they are clearly put there because the dev knows anime fans want it. I don't think for a second that devs don't know players want sexy outfits to customise their characters...but some devs do tend to act dumb nowadays.

So to answer your question: Its not the work of the devs, but it should be the work of knowledgeable devs that know what their audience wants.

Never played Tales series before but will definitively get this day 1, i'm curious how's the fanservice of the previous Tales games? I bought Atelier Ryza because the insane thicc marketing and memes but the actual game is pretty damn wholesome and nearly zero fanservice at all (other than tame swimsuit and camera angle)

I've played Tales of the Abyss, Vesperia, Zestiria, and Berseria. The fan service is very minimal/non-existent. Velvet (Berseria) and Judith (Vesperia) are the only characters that show more skin than the others but even then, there aren't weird camera angles or anything like that. Their bodies are not focused on in any lewd ways. There are some swimsuit outfits but that's it. Fan service isn't the selling point of these games at all as Tales is, I would say, a series known for its stories with plot twists, betrayals, and really interesting characters.
