There's a skit where she talks about how she only had a doll as company when she was a kid, because that's as close as she can come to touching a living thing.

There's also some spoiler related thing at some point (I won't say when) which you can make assumptions based off of. I would tell you if you were okay with spoilers since i don't think it's that obvious even if you know, but since you don't want them i'll just leave it at that.

No spoilers, but can you advise where in the story this happens? I don't wanna miss it, I love Shionne so much :D I've just beaten the second Lord, for reference.

If you guys like Shionne's character you might quite adore Luca from Ar Tonelico II who has quite a bit of similarities with Shionne. I will also advise that, contrary to the many literaly copy pasta reviews piggy backing off one another that haven't actually played the game there is little fan service in the game, which reviews will try to claim it is all about. She starts out seemingly spoiled and not much to her but that isn't so. It's a good one. Never played the alternate character path as I didn't care much for them but there are two other characters you can make into the primary heroine.

Thanks for trying to avoid saying it. I'll keep an eye out for it as I near the end of the game.

There are also a handful of skits and ambient comments where she mentions how she wishes she could touch Hootle because he looks soft and fluffy, but can't because of her thorns.

When she says "are you really soft anf fluffy as they said" during camp you can see her action of wanting to touch Hootle but hesitates so yes its a given besides none living things are the only things she can touch
