Training Grounds too hard
I'm trying the literal novice battle (recommended level 30) while my party is level 29, and idk if I'm somehow playing poorly when I've been managing everything else in the game, but I can't even come close to beating this fight. The final (I'm assuming it's the final one) wave of enemies always winds up with one half dead, other near full hp, and then my party wipes. I even put the game on easiest difficulty but it barely made a difference for the fight. Anyone else having issues with this?

I don't remember what enemy types that is but using the right Boost Strike for the enemy type will get you pretty far in the arena. Don't spam them, gotta use them strategically.

I can't check the game right now so that's about all I can say at the moment.

I fought them at 25 and got to them and I failed due to running out of CP. I haven't tried again since I'm currently unable to go back as I've reached what I assume is the point of no return until you finish the game beating the fourth lord, you're unable to fast travel out of the next area

Level does make a huge difference, all the enemies are 32 and up with the two big guys coming in at 34 or 36 I think, I nearly beat them at 28 but as Tyrant said CP was the issue. I beat them handily at lvl 30 though.

You still have a lot of game left my friend, don't you worry about that.

On topic the arena battles are pretty dang hard, they only get worse later on. I'd recommend waiting until later in the game before you bother doing any of it, you'll have the chance to come back later, I didn't bother with it until around level 40 or so and you can do a clean sweep of everything up to the ultimate one. (I got destroyed on the ultimate one at 40, so I wouldn't try that)

Just do the colliseum once you are near end game (phase 2 of the story)

it is indeed hard but that just means ur not very profcient with ur characters yet. Try different arts combination and don't button smash

If I am correct, the Training Grounds are not affected by change difficulty. They are keep at Normal difficulty.

I completed them before I finished the 4th area, with party levels around 28.

Beat it no problems even when I had to play as characters I never controlled before, nor did I really know anything about which arts I should have been using. I just slapped some random arts to buttons and rolled with it. I don't understand why some of you are having an issue here?

The group one? I had no issues there either. The solo ones were even easier.

The arena fights very technical and tougher than normal trash fights. You're supposed to be using skills and boost strikes strategically and micromanaging your party more than usual. Just take it slow and don't try to button mash through it and you'll be ok, or if it's too tough come back in when you're over level.

i played this fight really well up to the last wave where i downed one of the mobs and the other was half health and killed everyone but rinwell. i used the next 10 minutes to slowly solo the rest of the fight with her. just cast, dodge, and repeat.

Naw, once you beat the 5th lord, the map opens up again. Once you find the path back that connects to the rest of the world. its Remember that bridge when going to cyslodia that no one knew where it lead to? that can only be opened from the other side. Thats the path back from 5th lords terrtory to connect it with the rest, once you make that connection fast travel is freely open again.

The fact your not given items like in most other tales games also makes it harder. In most other ones they give you a very limited amount of items for each arena fight. In Arise you get nothing. For the group battles if your not way over leveled if your healer gets killed, your pretty much gonna lose that battle, especially on hard. Its why I main both Shionee and Dohalim in my party.

I don't believe that for a moment. Post a video of you doing the Novice Group battle at at lvl 28 or shut up.

Maybe he was using the cheat dlc? Having the costume skill wheels is a gigantic advantage, fairy circle on dohalim, tons of stats, etc.
