That said, I am about 9 hours into Arise, and I think it's going to top Berseria very easily...
Just be aware that there are
3 unique artes, 9 passives, and 3 titles with each character that are locked behind a $30.00 paywall...
None of it is necessary to beat the game, but know that it exists so you are blindsighted later.
Personally i would go with Berseria, its much cheaper right now if you shop around for Steam keys and apart from the graphics and maybe the battle system i feel Berseria is superior to Arise, especially in the story and character interaction department.
You can still get Arise later when its cheaper.
Overall, for me personally, Arise is far and away better, but the things I care about are usually a good bit different from other people so take that for what it is.
Woman in search for vengance cliche-Check
Dude in search of his mentor- Check
Lost child- Check
Enemy that turns ally- Check
Gray morals bad guy who does bad things in order to save the people- check
All tales games have tropes and chiches since always...
Berseria had em, arise has em. I love berseria as my play time might suggest, but do not try to slander Arise saying it's full of tropes when all games in the series are...
For Arise so far the presentation is good, but the pacing is a bit too fast.
