not OP but i found the first lord really easy
second one is hard for 2 factors
1 there is so much special effect and the room overall is really birght i couldn't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ see sh*t at times
2 dunno if it was just me but i did not understand how to stop his ultimate attack that would nearly kill all my party members
Its just that with the increase in party members and their skills, its becoming a lot harder to make sense of what's going on screen which just adds to the difficulty. Not to mention the 1 hit attacks that I basically have to tank etc....
Money is really hard to come by in this game for some reason
Looking forward to the second lord as the first one disappointed me (difficulty-wise)
I was out of Orange Gels, and no one was willing to sell some. Even the maps did not drop it. In all Tales Games, Orange Gel is the most basic healing (MP Restoring) Item. Here CP/MP is consumed by the map puzzles + auto healing during mob battles. Without Orange Gels (And with no way to get some), the boss fight forced me to literally burn down all my other consumables. This is in addition to the fact that the AI party members all targeted different adds during the Indignation (One Hit Spell) Cast - which meant no chance of Boost Attacks.
Overall, rather than a genuine "Hard" boss, this was more of a bad design, which led to frustration.
The other bad part is that Exp given in random battles is just sad. Which means you can't even grind. You also have to hope for the "Dog Tag" Item drops to sell if you want gil. Unlike past games, there is no way to get gil directly via battles. Overall, all of this was just bad design I feel.
As for the DPS check, I don't know if its even possible to beat that check, the average level for that area seems to be 16 (I was 16 as well) and I was able to only beat 2 clones but the mystic arte still went off. Wearing those resistance accessories was a MUST or it would be a party wipe.
Needless to say after the fight I have pretty much no items and pretty much flat broke rebuying my life bottles back
EDIT: I also wish we could trigger Overlimit our own rather then just having it happen at random..would have been nice to fire off some mystic artes during the DPS check then at the beginning of the gosh darn fight cause that's when Overlimit decided to kick in >.>
I think this boss fight was bad designed:
1. You can't see sh!t, if there are 3 clones and your party spamming effects all over the place.
2. I think the boss cast isn't interruptible, if you are not overleveled. So you must take this hit.
3. The boss is 3 level higher then your party. Most players are Lv 16 at this point, without MTX. So you would need around 150 encounters to get on the level of the boss. This can't be intended. The encounters after this fight has lower levels for some reason. Same with the first boss.
(4.) It's impossible to prevent that your party is getting hit by something. So you must spend items. It's not bad, but unusual, that you spend such a big amount of money for useable items.
