While Air thrust and freeze lancer is lower level, when they are 5*, they deal a LOT of damage, and you can cast them pretty fast to get that hit chain up. Think i had about 2500 uses of Air thrust near the end of the game.
Once you enter the overlimit tutorial, let the AI go nuts...just make sure to disable the mystic, or the AI will use it and end the tutorial.
Did this on ps5.
Out of all the pay-to-win artifacts included in the DLC, I'm surprised there wasn't one for x10 arts usage.
(EDIT): SO I lied, 5 starring demon fang adds one more demon fang onto double demon fang, for a total of 3. So 5 starring both would be close to around 60% damage increase. Sounds worth it to me.
Also, if you are trying to learn which ones to optimize for Alphen to be completely honest there isn't really a choice. Aside from range benefits of demon/double demon fang, the only one worth focusing on is Reining slash due to its hilariously broken scaling. Even the second best arte on Alphen would be far behind it. I will say it is a less fun skill, though, which is enough to justify pretending it doesn't exist and using others.
ive noticed spells also get bigger in form with star increased usage, i tend to use Dohalim alot and his earth(stalagmite and grounddasher) and darkness spells( forgot the suction one but execution) both got bigger in size
