Changing playable character

I saw the demo and it was possible to play as shionne.

as of now, 4 hours in the game, i can only play as Alphen, is there a way to change the character i control to Shionne in battle or you can only play as Alphen?

I know the change party leader setting but it's only change the roaming character, not battle character.

So, is it impossible to play other character other than Alphen?

Yes, it's in the menu.

Yes. In the menu, tap the "Edit" button. (On controller is the R1/RB button, not sure about keyboard). Then the flagged character represents the one you control during combat.

You can also just hold the lock-on select button and press the number keys or dpad to change to other characters

thanks for the help,,, i realize that since i am using mouse and keyboard, the setting was different. need to try out many things to open the lock-on button, which is alt then press number then i can change character.. thanks..

yes, i got it now, it keep on saying on controller, have to figured out the keyboard button...
