Can't play demo because I own the game?
How am I supposed to get the Vacation Hootle outfit?

Do you have to buy the game from the demo menu in order to get it?

I played the demo first but I got the game from GMG, so I didn't buy it directly through the demo launcher.

The demo's also on the MS store but i'm not sure if it'd work with the steam copy

It won't download if you own the game, seems like. At least for me.

Ah, yeah, just checked as well. Clicking download just makes the Steam think for a second and then nothing happens. Sucks...

Also tried installing through the steam install link but no dice.

A solution would be to just log into an alt account, download the demo, and go from there since it might just find the demo save to give you the owl accessory.

Since I'm waiting to catch a steep discount so I can get this game, I was playing the demo.

Here is my save, it was beaten with all 3 pairs of characters to have all the character trailers unlocked.

Saves are located in %LOCALAPPDATA%\BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment

Yhwatch below says you may have to change folder name 1234567 part in the \Demo Version\Saved\SaveGames\1234567 to match your userid from the full version.

Yikes. Although seemingly not a very important piece of dlc, this is clearly a lame turn of events. People who were excited enough about the game to pre order and pre load are now locked out of content. Hopefully there is a workaround found but I wouldn't hold my breath There are other instances of games where the demo doesn't work when you own the game and for all I know could be a limitation inherent with the store.

So Im confused, do I change that to my name or to the same numbers of my in game save?

They should either make it a free dlc for all players or as automatic for people who preorder or own the game since we can't play the demo.

Sorry, bit confused about this. Do I put the Demo Version folder inside the existing Tales of Arise folder? The one with the "config" and "saved" folders already in there?

So, the folder looks like this?

I thought Bandai Namco would have fixed this but apparently not...

Instead of what the OP described yesterday, it instead will download the full game as of today.

Going to take a guess and say this must have been a promotional DLC thing or if you haven't purchased the game yet on Steam since you seemingly can't download the demo. (Talking to people who hadn't prior to release.)

I submitted a ticket to Bandai Namco. Awaiting response. No word from their Twitter that I submitted a question to them.
