Multiplayer? (Not online)

So every Tales game from as far as I can remember has always had the ability to plug in another controller and have another player control a character in combat. It's always been somewhat of a secret and sometimes even had to be pressed at the right time for people to know it was a thing. Does anyone know if that is in Arise?

Again this is not online, not outside of combat, not splitscreen even.
Your buddy just sits besides you IRL as you play the story then they play only in fights (with more than 2 characters) the camera generally zooms out a ways to compensate but it can be troublesome at times.
