How are you supposed to "play" Kisara (RE: Training grounds)
Every other character feels easy and simple to use. But Kisara is really throwing me for a loop here. Her damage is crap. And she clearly wasn't meant to fight things solo. Am I supposed to hold block the entire time and use arts? Or am I meant to more time it like a dodge?

You play her entirely different, honestly. You want to fish for this perfect blocks a LOT with her and spam that a lot. Once you get one then you can hold block to do your enhanced artes. She's a much more reactive character but the bigger issue is her offensive stats are so terrifyingly middling that all of her really slow attacks don't do much damage anyway, I think they really badly balanced her. She's the only one that I'd honestly never consider playing, and I played her for 2 whole dungeons >_>

I just want to get her through the first training ground. She's lvl 26 and lvl 25 is req. I CAN clear but can't clear with time enough to get the stat booster.

I'd honestly recommend getting her to a higher level then. Which is to say, sorry, I don't have any other advice other than using artes that are solely based off of Attack or Elemental, whichever is highest.

A majority of her damage is locked behind Guard Ignition, once you have blocked an attack you'll see she gets a sort of yellow aura for a little while, that's when her damage becomes decent. Based on my (admittedly very limited) testing her damage is even better after a perfect guard as opposed to just a regular guard, so that's what you want to aim for.

That being said, I do think she is the weakest overall, and you don't need the par time to unlock anything important at the training grounds, so if you can't manage it yet I would say don't worry about it. If you've cleared it already and got the title that's the main thing.

you don't necessarily need those perfect blocks to get the most out of her arts. If you just hold block and then use an arte the moment you block an attack you'll get the extra dmg

also imo her slow arts are actualy the worst, just spam her726326987 shield bashes they are fast and fluidly chain in each other, i use her power arts only on slow or downed enemies

She can switch from Defense to offense in an instant, meaning she can attack while you are blocking. This might be a perk from a skill I can't remember though.

The "recommended" level I feel like was something lost in translation. You want to do those at least 5 levels higher on a normal play through and get the bonus the first or second time around. For Kisara I suggest getting more power strike Artes and Arte's in general, throw SP into BG gain from Downs/defeats/crits, etc, and AG boosts, definitely get her power Strike proficiency to 600. Also Smackdown and/or BG gain is a must on her accessory for the solo fights.

It's like the play testers tested everything on story mode. Do the first group battle at level 30 and you'll know what I mean.
