BUG - Cyclodia during "tutorial mode" for Over Limit

During the combat right after you have the cutscene involving Zephyr, Law, and Ganabelt it throws you into a tutorial mode for Over Limit where I am assuming you are supposed to use over limit to build up for a Mystic Art. However, the enemy gauges will not fill and I am unable to break through the combat which deals no actual damage to the enemies. Hoping someone has a suggestion as I am not seeing anything come up in search results for this particular issue.

The tutorials are supposed to be completed with specific characters, you cant use any party member.

Well, I was using Alphen. I'll attempt cycling through them.

If I remember right, you're supposed to use Alphen and his overlimit bar will fill up automatically without you doing anything.

Apparently switching to one of the other party members and then switching back allowed me to complete the finisher. Very odd.

You will glow blue as Alphen. Use one of his ground artes and then hold the buttons mentioned to use it. Try it a few times because Mystics ares don't always seem to activate properly due to bugs and some artes can't activate them at all it seems (such as Demon Fang).
