Weird, for me on xbox 360 controller, it's the select button which brings up the prompt: "Skip" or "Resume" during cutscenes.
My answer to OP would probably be the refund button lol. Over half the experience is cut scenes/story/characters. If that's not her thing (assuming refund is still applicable) might as well save the money.
There's also a lot of content (mainly dialogue) that's not considered a cutscene, so the only way to skip it is to spam the continue button, which could be frustrating if you aren't interested.
Well there is three answers for you OP. :P
It's stupid to skip some, you will not understand the story, the relations, the world... Refund the game at this rate XD. Go play something else with your GF with less story and less lore. (Don't play the others Tales of too)
For controller it's R1/RB + A
for the actual important part of video games, the gameplay.
Anyway, i say OP should skip the girlfriend instead, she sounds annoying, getting mad for dumb reasons sounds like a red flag but if you reaaally want to skip the game just for please her, then bad news, a lot of cutscenes can't be skipped in this game, tho most of the skits can be ignored.
I don't know--does it?
