Skill Tree Duplicate skills?

Is there a benefit for acquiring duplicate skills in the skill tree? I.e. two titles in Alphen's tree is "Increased Near-Death Defense/Elemental Defense", as well as the skill "Flaming Edge Burst". Is there any benefit of acquiring both? Or are they merely for the sake of completing the specific title wheel?

Havent done any extensive testing, but presumably they stack.

Those 2 stack, so yes, the have incremental values for as much as you have aquired. Others like Ko prevention do not stack and i would recommend that you don't get em duplicate until the very end when you don't have any more skills to learn or you really want the achivement.
