Once you go to this place can you freely come back?
Once you get to Rena are you able to freely go back and fourth right away or are you trapped there till late in that area? I'm coming up to this point I think soonish. about to go into the wedge.

I suggest you keep on truding through Rena till you get to the Astral Core area cause the treck to get there is UGH!

yes you can, there are only 2 (or 3) travel points here so you should go atleast until you reach one.
At these points is a teleporter back to the ship too.
