Favourite character so far?

For me Alphen when I heard it was gonna be an Amnesiac character I was worried generally those are cliche , personality devoid Mary Sues and self inserts.

But Alphen has a personality albeit some aspects are super cliche but relatable and avoids being a Mary Sue and a self insert so I really love his character for that.

Law just oozes personality he is my second fav by far.

So which ones are your favourites?

Rinwell by far....love casting epic spells that take time to charge...spamming all boost moves in a desperate attempt to keep all the monsters off me while I'm chanting.

Kisara and Shionne. Law is actually funny when he's trash-talking Rinwell. Alphen is just like whatever. I'm completely indifferent to him. Could be worse, could be a lot better. Rinwell is my least favorite so far. She's very one dimensional and has shown zero growth up to the end of zone 4. Maybe she gets better later, idk.

Oh yeah, my REAL fav is Hootle. Makes Rinwell tolerable.

Alphen and Shionne . When I first played the game I was worried because Alphen is good guy with amnesia and Shionne is Tsundere . I was like “Oh another overused anime trope incoming” . But lol I was wrong . Alphen maybe good guy but he is no pushover . He have no problem with arguing against Shionne if she goes too much .

And Shionne , her tsundere is very reasonable unlike Alisa from cold steel and Marie from persona 4 golden where they are hitting MCs for nothing .

I just get all 6 party memebers so plz don’t spoil me . Actually I like all 6 members . Among them , the chemistry between Alphen and Shionne is just beautiful .

Tsundere Shionne, and I really like to play her and her air combat is my favorite.

Shionne cause of her tsundere soft side and I'm curious to know why she is who she is and what her goal is. She also reminds me a ton of Cloche from Ar Tonelico II who turned out to be a great character. I don't particularly care for her character's visual design, though. Mainly that ponytail is insane (from a combat/feasible perspective, but also couldn't they have done a better ponytail with the new engine...? Something like Aeris has or just anything else).

Honestly, compared to Berseria I find most of the chars Meh at best. Alphen annoyed me with his hero complex he has, its not as bad come the 4th/5th lords but until after the 3rd he was REALLY damn annoying. I'm after the 5th lord now, and starting to like Shionne a bit, as shes becoming less Tsun, and less prickly with the party finally. Law is an idiot, Rinwell is well.. very one dimensional. Kisara has a brother complex. Dolahim.. well hes kinda an idiot that needs to pay attention to whats going on around him. Overall though I liked all the chars in Berseria much better than Arise personally.

I mean Alphen has a complex about not wanting to be a hero and disregarding those titles whilst trying to uphold justice like a normal person is that what your talking about ? But fair enough interesting to hear what people think about the characters :D

As combatants? Haven't played with all of 'em a whole lot, but Law is fun as hell. Huge combos, Greased Lightning ripped right from FFXIV, tons of mobility. Kisara is just miserable to play though, which is unfortunate, I love her aesthetic design. Maybe she'll get more fun with more skills and whatnot, maybe a +50% speed accessory or something to make up for her godawful mobility. Rest are fun, Rinwell seems super intriguing once you kinda deep-dive into holding spell combos for absurd burst potential.

As characters? Ehhhhhhh. I get the world sucks but everyone is super dour and hung up on stuff. It's realistic, I get it. For example: Kisara brings up her brother every 30 seconds, but it makes sense that the man who raised her and her only family dying a gruesome and agonizing death in front of her would leave an impression, especially since she just reunited with him. It'd take years to get over something like that, if ever. But even still, these are some one-dimensional characters. The game definitely could have used a comic relief character who cracks some jokes. Give me an Edna or a Jade or something to break up the depressing atmosphere. Law and Hootle fighting is legit the best interaction in the party outside of a couple of moments.

For alphen can you explain the hero syndrome thing? i'm at act 4 right now and he has been just the opposite he doesn't want to be seen as a hero but wants to help everyone even at the cost of his own wellbeing (which is normal behaviour) so i can't really see it, seen a few people say it and i'd love to understand that view point :o

That's because he acting too Goody-Two Shoes XD He doesn't want to be a Hero but he is contradicting himself and being the Hero

Jokes aside. I like the entire cast, but if I had to pick a favorite, Shionne, especially how she matures over the course of the game.
