edit: and before anyone comments about "dO yOu HaVe An ExP bOnUs On HeR" no I don't, obviously. I also have never finished a battle with a character KO'd.
I doubt the exp system works like that, but you never know.
Thats my only theory honestly. I have her setup to be a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ powerhouse and I restrict her artes based on the area we're fighting in (which I do for everyone for the most part) but she tends to do way more damage than anyone else.
My Rinwell is a little behind Alfin and Shionne, but I'm not thinking about it at all. The game seems to be very polished also, so I doubt there's something major like an EXP bug in it.
I see a lot of people seeing these inconsistencies are either seeing it from their AI Shionne who excels at staying alive compared to other characters it seems or Rinwell whom they are using as a ranged character manually and keeping her much safer, for obvious reasons. What would be interesting is if mid battle kills are awarding exp immediately but do not progress towards an actual level up until post battle results which could explain people who don't let their characters die at the end of battle (or they could be simply forgetting 1 major battle against a tougher enemy or a very rare death occurrence they don't recall).
It could also be a bug but I suspect it is something more basic considering my experiences and some of these peculiar answers in this and related threads.
