So as a result, can just do the weekly challenge - you only get the x1 rewards multiplier, but at least you can potentially earn a perfect investigation still.
But I don't think it matters much - there is a planned objectives overhaul in the next major update, so this suggestion is kind of moot with that on the horizon. It'd be better to wait for that and see what happens.
That's why I've been slowly grinding a higher but comfortable difficulty modifier with Only the starter items - if I win I get 1000 exp a map, and if I lose I lose nothing because all the rest of my stuff are in storage.
If there is even one objective that requires a non-starter item like a crucifix, you lose out on 50-60 reward at amateur, 100-120 at intermediate, 150-180 at professional.
So, you only come out ahead if you're playing on amateur. You lose money on any higher difficulty.
But more to the point - we do need to look ahead to the roadmap here. Our next planned major update does say that they will be adding new tasks and optional objectives... they could also be giving a few the chopping block then.
I know its a week later and then some, but seriously. I've managed to beat both amateur and intermediate with nothing but the starting items. And I've got 15 hours in this game?
Sure I had some knowledge from having watched a few videos before I got interested in playing myself, but still... I don't get how you're "loosing" money.
Course I'm just tossing the idea out there - we'll obviously have to wait and see what they do... they might even remove it outright then for all we know.
Doesn't quite solve the fact that it can be completed by entering and exiting a contract.
Making it a weekly challenge would require discovering the ghost three times with starter items for a reward of $5000 which hits the spirit of the challenge.
