That aside... there is also the simple fact that you get extra Quick-Loadout configuration slots for the first 10 prestige ranks.
As far as a multiplier is concerned, this was proposed to be a "per prestige" sort of option - a flat 10% bonus, with the other option being some extra starting cash. However, after some player feedback... they apparently decided to not implement this with the Ascension Adjustments that came with the Eventide Update.
Personally, I'd like to see a prestige token system for the game similar to Call of Duty. However, the caveat is that you must have a lower tier permanently unlocked before getting a higher tier. For example, in order to perma unlock the T3 crucifix, you'd need to prestige a minimum of 3 times (one for each tier). For the total safety items (crucis, smudges, firelights, and san meds) you'd need 12 prestiges minimum. This would be reasonable given the sheer commitment for the average player, even if you speedrun the prestiges.
Another idea that I'd like to see, and more likely to actually be implemented, is additional Custom slots for higher prestiges.
