There's also just "general Ghosts" that can do that.
Your typical ghost (such as spirit / fantome / revenant) can do pretty much anything you want them to do as they do not represent a specific type of ghost.
For example : Korea's Gwisin are just ghosts that still have a tie to the physical world for X or Y reason.
So, there you have it :
"Gwisins are commonly found wandering around in a place they used to inhabit. They will rarely step out of their used-to-be living place, and are said to attack anyone that wanders in their room for too long, trying to protect this place."
Ability : Gwisin will walk faster in and close to their favorite room.
Strength : Ghost interactions will lower a significantly greater amount of Sanity, and will prioritise hunting people close to their favorite room.
Weakness : Gwisins are slower than other ghosts when outside of their room, and will tend to stay in and around their favorite room more than other ghosts.
I would say that it's hidden ability is a bit weak and doesn't mesh well with it's identity.
NEW HIDDEN ABILITY: -100% chance to do interactions/events and -50% to do hunts if too far from the players, +200% chance to do events/hunt if too close to the players.
That way you can't actually tell if it's the shy ghost by hunts alone and it hides as a Shade or Mimic.
The idea is more like a territorial but anti-social ghost, like a cat or a kid when the mother enter its room; they want the "intruders" to be gone but will mostly avoid conflit, while still resorting to it. Being only shy would make it a bit boring to me.
Still your ability suggestion doesn't completly cancel mine, so adding/mixing both would be nice. That way they would still be unique enough for "no evidence" runs but still similar enough to confuse them.
I looked a bit and there's another that fits well, from south Asia: the bhoot, a type of spirit that cant move on without a proper funeral.
Let's hope this inspire the devs for the new ghosts. I also saw some fun idead that people made on the minecraft version of the game on a video.
