Spirit Smudging not working correctly.

I've been playing on 0 Evidence, 150% speed ghost games for the past week and every time it ends up being a spirit the Smudge timer never gets to 3 minutes. It has been very inconsistent. Sometimes the Spirit will hunt early than a Demon. Ive tried walking through the ghost while smudging during a hunt, in the ghost room, and during an event when it appears (No i'm not spamming the smudges because i know it only counts on the first smudge used within 160 seconds) . Every time I start the timer it does not go to full 3 minutes like its suppose to.

Yeah its a bit odd I use Tier1 sticks also i know the radius is smaller but im still going through the ghost when i do smudge it so it just stumps me.
