Is VR Broken?
I haven't played Phasmo in VR in quite some time, but I recently got back into VR right after this latest Point Loma update was released.

Is VR broken right now? I load in and instantly in the lobby it's reading 10fps, and in the headset itself it's way lower than that- it's unplayable. No other games are like this and I didn't used to have this issue (the performance used to be bad, but not THIS bad).
Quest 2, rtx 2070, 8700k- tried using both Virtual Desktop and an actual Link cable and it's equally terrible on both.
Anybody have any advice? I'd appreciate it

I tried VR the other day with the quest 3, and it worked alright for me (thru steam), although it was streaming terribly bc I had to use Virtual Desktop (my laptop uses the intel arc, which the quest app doesn't support, and my internet sucks). My game ran fine otherwise, and on my laptop, it was still running smoothly.
When you boot up the game, it offers two alternatives ways to play VR. I was using the bottom option, although I don't remember what the text on it said (this is launching through steam pc, not through the VD menu).
Also, if you are using VD and the link cable at the same time, I don't believe VD actually uses the cable. it is still a wireless connection. If you want to hook up with the link cable, try using the quest link instead (requires the quest link app found on their website on PC side, and must be enabled through the quick settings menu on the headset). The quest app gets a lot of bad rep, but on my old computer (rtx 4070) it ran wonderfully. Can't do it now tho cause of my current GPU.
GL solving your issue tho :3

Thank you! I tried both of the launch options (steamvr home + exluding steamvr) and they ran the same. When I said I tried both VD and Link I mean separately hahaha, I did it at different times. I feel like I remember when hitting the launch option that says "excl. steamvr" steamvr still opens... maybe I'm doing something wrong?
