Camera constantly not working

Please, for the love of God, fix the camera or give some way to know if the picture will actually count. I cannot tell you how many times I have taken a picture of a ghost and it did not count, said interaction, or was completely blank and didn't count as anything. I can't do the "Capture a photo of the Ghost" objective if the camera doesn't work! The last 2 games I played of it, first game, I took a photo of the ghost, it was hunting, and I took a very clear image of the ghost, it didn't count for anything. One of the other players showed me in his journal that the ghost was in the photo and it didn't count and the ghost killed me immediately and it wasn't even close to me, so that would be cool if that didn't happen. The next game the ghost was hunting and I took a good image of the ghost, and it counted it as "Interaction"? It was a picture of the ghost! And again, mine journal did not have the ghost in the photo and one of the other players said they could see the ghost in their journal. So either fix whatever is going on, or give some way that you can tell if the picture is a good one or not.

Did you tried to take a picture during a hunt? Just don't do that. It is pure gambling. This is absolutely intended by the dev because it would be too easy to get pictures that way. A Phantom can also be stopped by a taking picture, so its blinking is even more severe. The "interaction", btw, you got was most likely a door or item it threw while the ghost crossed it.

The journal is not accurate as each client does take the picture for themselves (to minimize lags), and due to the network delay, some people will see the ghost in the picture and some not. But it counts what the person taking the picture got in his journal

Fyi, always try to get pictures from spooks while you gather the evidences. Spooks are 100% guaranteed pictures. Learn to provoke spooks by calling the ghost's name at lower sanities, master this and you have no problems in the future.

Physical manifestations and shades are good spook pictures, don't try to take a photo from a mist manifestion, it won't count at all as a ghost.

Okay, I understand the journal is a bit janky, that still should warrant a fix, I feel. Also, multiple times I've taken pictures of walls, and it say "interaction", I've had many times of ghost during an intended encounter and it just doesn't count as anything. I've had multiple cases of taking pictures of a book, and it just doesn't count as well. The camera seriously needs an overhaul.

True the camera system isn't the best, I dont know how long you have been playing but it used to be much worse XD. Anyway I have done the same thing as you, got a clear picture with nothing counting. The most recent update to the camera that came a few month ago made it work off of a distance system I believe. So while it doesn't always work for certain to have the best chance of a ghost photo you need to have placement. for the best change to get the ghost photo lead the ghost away from its room so you wont be likely to get a fingerprint or interaction photo instead of the ghost pic. That tend to work for me alot but it is still not 100% as on occasion the ghost will disappear or it just wont count. There also the most safe route of taking a photo during a ghost event as that rarely does not count.

Okay, I've been playing since October, and I've basically only had issues with just the camera. They really need to overhaul it or something
