For now, you will need to listen for it when you take the photo. If you can still hear it but it visually disappears, then you know it's a Phantom.
"Weakness: Taking a photo of the Phantom will make it temporarily disappear."; It's make it disappear, not 'it will not appear in a photo'.
You're not checking whether the phantom is present in the photo or not, You're checking to see if the ghost event instantly ends when you snap the pic.
And yes; This means you may want to double verify since the phantom is now present in the picture, You'll want to double check to make sure it wasn't just unlucky timing that you snapped the pic and the event ended at the same time.
Yeah exactly, usually the ghost photos wouldn't have the actual ghost in the picture, but it would still be a GHOST photo.
So that's messed up that they changed that for some reason since now the Phantom's Weakness DOESNT exist now. It used to be pretty easy to identify Phantoms just by nabbing that lucky picture and having them disappear instantly both in person AND in the photo.
Okay so it's not a bug, it's just a bad new design choice. Well screw whoever thought that one up then.
Double edit: Actually wait, if its supposed to end a ghost event immediately, then WHY was the ghost still visible when I took a photo of it and it was a Phantom?
The weakness has not changed at all. It was the way I just explained before, It is still that way now.
-Disappeared in photo but it was still a Ghost photo
-Disappeared instantly in-person, which is the telltale sign of a phantom (usually, unless the timing is like you said).
But I'm reporting cases of when it didn't disappear in person immediately after having its picture taken.
1: Well, Given how photographs work, It makes sense that you're able to get an actual picture of it before it disappears- The light has already bounced off of it to be captured by the camera before it has disappeared. (Otherwise you couldn't see it during the event)
2: If you're saying the model lingered after, and the ghost event didn't instantly end when you took the picture, THAT would be a bug and not how it's intended to function.
Yeah your 2nd point is exactly what happened.
