Movement stutter
Hi!

My friends and I decided to check out the new update and while playing we noticed that we all seemed to see each other stuttering forward when walking around. Has anyone else experienced this? In case it matters: Server version 0.176.28

But why do some people not have this issue and some people do? I mean... i seen also people that seem not to experience this stuttering.

I have no clue. I'm not the dev of this game

Ye i got the same feeling, did the mini patch yesterday and it felt even more laggy/stuttering
Diro Nov 5, 2020 @ 8:54am
Yeah, its actually unplayable now.

As much as i enjoy the game, and want to enjoy it, the constant FPS drops/lags/frame skips is getting beyond a joke now.

Cant enjoy anything, as soon as you look in a certain direction, or you are close to "Ghost interactions" - The fps stuttering are just to much, constantly kills the immersion for me and the mrs personally.

Stutter is getting worse and worse. Client timeouts, large lag spikes, random disconnects....
This game is becoming crappier and crappier every day.
Well because i got these problems since day one, ill give it a negative untill is fixed.

It's interpolation/lagginess. Not a performance stutter. It's causing users to be reported in incorrent locations and for their movements to just looked f*cked. Started happening about 2 weeks ago, nothing has fixed it. Happening on normal and beta.

Yeah, it has something to do with that netcode 'upgrade'.

Phasmophobia recently had an other update but sadly this hasn't fixed the problem aswell.

Its the actual "fps dips" in certain phases/areas thats getting to me.

Runs fine, soon as you look at the house - 0fps for few seconds, then its fine.

Go in the house, fine.....ghost moves somewhere, fps 0 - few seconds, then fine.

constantly repeating this non stop, just laggyness and annoyance.

@everyone -I found a small fix
If you use an Nvidia card turn on vsync.... It seems that the game runs with 100% GPU trying to get your FPS up to 300+ fps which causes the stuttering.
After i turned on Vsync in the nvidia panel the GPU usage lowered down from 99% to 60-70%...
Still not very optimized but better then before.
Before the halloween patch it was still definitly better and smoother...

Interesting! I'll have to check it out.

I wonder though, how does this affect something that is most likely based on the netcode?

Sorry, but doesent help. Dev should shift priorities. To fix gamebreaking bugs, not ball bounces.
