Xp farm for returning player
Recently got back into the game and was put to I-0, Looking for a good way to get some levels/money. Currently I've been running Professional but I'm not leveling that fast and nightmare is a little hard for my group. What's a good custom difficulty that's not to hard but pays a good amount? And are there any general tips I should know to min/max my progression?

For my custom (Note: I'm only a novice), I maxed out all the Ghost speed, sanity drain, no hiding places, hunting duration etc. that boosts the danger of the Ghost Hunts, but this can easily be mitigated by bringing Crucifixes and Sanity Meds that will PREVENT hunts from even occurring (if you die early, just mark Demon and hope it's not a Mimic). You can remove Player sprint as being hunted in this mode is almost a guaranteed death for a player anyway, but Player Speed is completely up to you as it can be a slog to walk at a snail's pace dragging equipment in and out of the truck.

Personally, I left evidences at 3 and set changing rooms to NEVER as I'd rather have a guaranteed win than further amp up the risk of making a wrong guess or spending too much time that I die (Sanity meds can only do so much once Sanity Drain is at 200% and the more players there are the worse it gets since Sanity Meds are maxed out at 4).

There are Bad and Good news for you. The good news is that Nightmare Mode is a bit easier than before, most ghosts i've played take a bit longer to hunt than before. Finding Ghosts based on their traits and skills without any evidence feels a bit more solid now.

So, in other words, the whole 'getting good' thing shouldn't be an issue. The most difficult thing yet is to find players who actually want to play you on Nightmare mode, since nightmare is now taking twice as long since it got nerfed ghosts take a lot longer to hunt.

The bad news is, you could've started farming Camp Woodwind 6 months ago by looping the ghost around the table and making 12x~13x exp. points each time you get the ghost right; HOWEVER, the game is now patched and you can't safely loop the ghost anymore.

The whole milking the ghost thing is "JOVER" :lunar2019deadpanpig:

I have been researching this myself and so far one of the best time/cost methods is to do the weekly challenges. It is 5000 XP/cash and all gear is provided so you do not have to worry about dying.

Edit: I thought the weekly/daily quests were not linked to difficulty, but apparently you need to have a modifier greater than 0x to get them to register.

This is not true at all.

Camp Woodwind x12.97 is still the best for levelling up. You do literally the same just without the table exploit. I can go from level 1 to level 100 within 5 hours. Went from P15 to P18 since the June update.

My advice for OP is to find xp farmers and ask them for help, either on public lobbies or from Discord. With the help of experienced players OP can reach lvl 50 within like 90 minutes.

You can set up a custom to be profesional like but have a 5x multuplier. 4x pro is pretty easy to set up too. Set things like heavy rain, no cursed possessions and lower grace period.
