Alternatively you can also just try to cheese it by always restarting when getting harder objectives (best ones are photo and incense/escape related ones) and then redo it until you get a Deogen.
my hardest time was with the emf objective because the ghost room was on the other side of the map but eventually after one hunt the ghost did a emf thing right where it ended its hunt
tbh I doubt there really is a way to reliably do the gold apocalypse for anything that isnt a super obvious hunter
The only ghosts that aren't really doable are Jinn (because broken fuse), Mare and Goryo (both due to not really having any easy to detect abilities). Shade is extremely hard to get, since you need to be very aggressive, but not impossible, once you reach its room. And Yurei is quite RNG dependant, but can be done with a paramic.
Obviously ghosts with a different speed or easily detectable abilities are usually way easier to find out and are probably prefered by most people who just want to get the trophy.
Content creators usually get the ghost correct, unless it's the Jinn/Goryo/Mare/Shade/Yurei-combo and most of their deaths happen while going for objectives or the photo.
I think the chapel might be the most ideal spot to have a ghost at. Either that or the front door and just dumping a lot more extra items in before starting. They fixed a lot of the cheese spots for the ghost, so don't expect those to work now.
Well, it was really easy for me. It just took me 2 hours to snipe Deogen xD. I think this is the easiest ghost that you can play against in this mode. He will never catch you unless you stop
walking. Also try to find easy objectives (try to avoid ghost events objective)
I rerolled objectives until I got good ones, and after that Deo was the first ghost I got. I had turned on the stream for my friends and was like "hey watch this" and literally within 5 minutes I completed it lol. I was a lucky mfer.
Any other equipment I'd recommend using T3, though just be mindful about T3 salt due to its slowing perk.
Secondly, use the Apocalypse 3 preset in the Custom menu, then change ghost events from low to medium. It shouldn't change the 15x multiplier as long as you don't change anything else, and will allow you a slightly better chance at getting a ghost photo.
Third, try to roll for objective more than ghosts. Many of the ghosts aren't too difficult to ID on their own, but getting those objectives and photo are the actual tough parts and it's not worth dying for bad objectives even if you get a relatively easy ghost.
Best objectives (objectives you will most likely complete while attempting):
Decent objectives (not bad overall, but something you may not complete due to circumstances):
Bad Objectives (you are better off resetting):
Objectives out of the way, I personally would not bother trying to figure out the following ghosts: Demon, Mare, Goryo, Onryo, Shade, Banshee, Yurei, and Jinn. Other than maybe Banshee and/or Yurei, they will likely take too long to figure out, and it is not worth a long run for a ghost with fairly passive (if any) tells. If you find yourself down to these ghosts, you may be better off just resetting to save yourself time (and money), but that is ultimately up to you.
As for tips for surviving, I'd just start by bringing in 2 smudges, a lighter (obviously), and a crucifix. Throw down the crucifix in the entrance then wait out the first hunt to figure out the ghost's location. If it isn't close by and/or a Deogen, then I'd go grab the remainder equipment you'd need for the mission. After that, make your way to the chapel to see if you can hear where the ghost is. Anything after that kinda depends on where the ghost is
They outta update the Apoc cards to tell people how many of each ghosts you actually found in the challenge.
