petition to remove the mimic

please devs, either remove the mimic or make it so it only appears in higher difficulties. my friends and i struggle to complete missions and then when we finally have the evidence correct it ends up being a mimic.

Remove complaints about the mimic if anything. This is such a rookie thing, I remember being there when I first started out with friends, got tricked 2-3 times, then never again. We have been playing on a custom difficulty multiplier of 4x for over a year now which would be something between Professional and Nightmare, and its a snoozefest. Cant get it wrong even when we do accidently die or just stuff around. The game gets so stale and boring after 300 hours. You are complaining about the wrong thing, we need them adding things, not taking away things.

i know "skill issue" is used as an insult but this is 100% a skill issue and rookie mistake. keep playing and learning the game and you'll stop falling for the mimic. just gotta pay attention, when there's 4 evidence, it wont be anything else. be patient and look for more if you see orbs.

you'll get used to it bud, if you need additional help look it up and study the mimics behavior

It's one of the most interesting ghosts. I also like the shade, you can deduct it from it's behavior. I dislike generic ghosts like Spirit, but then again, even they make the game more interesting because they are harder to find out with missing evidence and you have to exclude other ghosts to be certain.

Never assume, always take a few extra minutes to verify what ghost you chose, if it acts differently than it should always check for 4th evidence.

We never ever count orbs until we know the rest of the evidence. Just learn the tricks, Mimics are a pain but they can also be fun.

Tbh I wouldn't mind Mimic getting level locked till level 10 (I think that's when you unlock intermediate) simply to give new players some time to adjust to evidence gathering first.

Outright removing it isn't necessary though.

EMF5, Ghost Writing and DOTS eliminate Mimic as an option. If you have the other 3, you need to eliminate the 4th option as someone mentioned in an earlier reply. Always stay back to make sure you can cross off the final piece of evidence when Orbs, UV, Spirit Box and/or Freezing Temps are options.
