the game is dark
The game is too dark, even with the "adaptive eyes" option. It's impossible to play in modes where there's no light, on huge maps, and without the necessary equipment. It would be nice if they could set a minimum brightness level for viewing in the dark or explain how to fix it. My friends and I have the game with the brightness set to maximum, and it still looks dark.

There is one option is to change your Gamma and that really helped me out. You have to go to your windows setting to change the gamma.

welcome to horror games, but yeah like Jem said, changing the gamma could help or you can download texture mods that change brightness aswell, couple of streamers uses those mods

Don't use mods, they can corrupt your save or potentially get you banned.

GeForce Experience does have some settings in Game Filter that allow you to turn up the gamma, this is much safer and doesn't require you to download some sketchy mod that will probably break the game after an update. Assuming of course, you have an Nvidia graphics card that came with it.

No its defintiely darker than it is supposed to be for some. It's not just dark, its total pure black unless you use a light.

You mean you need to use the items in the game the way they're meant to be used?

Wow.
From my understanding, they changed the lighting system because the game was able to made too bright to where it was used as an exploit to be able to see everywhere in the dark, and so as a result when the lighting system changed, they capped the amount of brightness that you can get, alongside making the game generally darker.
