New Game Deathwatchers thats like Phasmaphobia
Gameplay Description:

In Deathwathers, you play as a member of an elite group of paranormal investigators known as the "Deathwathers," individuals who are trained to track, hunt, and banish malicious spirits that have been wreaking havoc in the world. Combining atmospheric horror with intense action, Deathwathers plunges you into eerie, haunted locations filled with vengeful ghosts, cryptic clues, and terrifying encounters.

Objective:
Your goal is simple yet daunting: hunt down powerful ghosts terrorizing specific locations, uncover their origins, and banish them before they drag you into the depths of their dark world. Every mission challenges your wits, nerves, and the ability to survive against supernatural forces.

Gameplay Mechanics:
Haunting Locations: You begin each mission in a variety of unsettling, procedurally generated environments—abandoned houses, decaying hospitals, cursed forests, or even ancient crypts. Each location has its own history and supernatural energy, which you must learn to understand to effectively banish the ghost haunting it.

Ghost Hunting Tools: Equipped with a range of ghost-hunting tools like spectral sensors, EMF readers, cursed relics, ghost traps, and a powerful banishment ritual book, you must utilize the right tools to capture and weaken the ghost. Each spirit has its own unique weakness, and you'll need to carefully analyze the environment and the ghost's behavior to uncover clues.

Paranormal Investigation: Throughout your investigation, you’ll piece together cryptic clues—old journal entries, forgotten artifacts, and disturbing paranormal activity. You must use your findings to deduce which spirit you're facing, its backstory, and how to break its power.

Combat with the Supernatural: The ghost won't just sit idly by while you try to banish it. As you get closer to the source of the haunting, expect heart-pounding encounters with the vengeful spirit. As the ghost becomes aware of your presence, the environment will distort, objects will fly, and shadows will twist in unnatural ways. You will be forced into tense cat-and-mouse chases through darkened hallways and rooms.

Banishment Ritual: Once you uncover the ghost's history and weakness, you must perform a ritual to banish the spirit for good. However, the ritual isn’t easy: you’ll need to gather specific items, perform complicated incantations, and survive an increasingly hostile environment. The ghost will fight back, trying to prevent its banishment with violent attacks, disorienting hallucinations, and terrifying manifestations.

Resource Management & Fear Mechanics: Managing your limited resources like batteries, health potions, and sanity is critical. The longer you stay in the haunted area, the more your fear meter fills up. If it reaches its limit, you’ll start to hallucinate, making it harder to distinguish between reality and the ghost’s illusions. You’ll need to balance investigating and banishing the ghost with staying calm and surviving long enough to finish the job.

Multiplayer Co-op (Optional): Team up with other players online to tackle larger, more dangerous haunts. Together, you’ll strategize, share resources, and work in tandem to track down and banish the ghost. Communication and coordination are key, as each team member might be tasked with different aspects of the investigation and banishment process.

Horror Elements:
Psychological Tension: The game doesn’t just rely on jump scares; it builds a constant sense of dread with atmospheric tension. The longer you investigate, the more the environment warps, your mind unravels, and the spirits grow stronger. The eerie soundscape, filled with whispers, footsteps, and chilling wails, keeps you on edge throughout the experience.

Ghost AI: Each ghost is unique in behavior and intelligence. Some may try to trick you into traps, while others might try to isolate and attack you directly. As you delve deeper into the mystery, you'll face more complex and deadly entities, forcing you to adapt your strategies.

Persistent Fear: Every decision you make in the game has consequences. If you fail to banish a ghost, it might come back stronger, or perhaps it will curse you in some way, adding an extra layer of urgency to each hunt. The deeper you venture into the realm of the supernatural, the more you'll question what’s real and what’s part of the haunting.

Endgame:
As you banish more and more ghosts, you'll uncover a deeper conspiracy, revealing the true origin of the Deathwathers and the reason the spirits have become so vengeful. A final showdown awaits with an ancient and incredibly powerful spirit that controls the world of the dead—a force that threatens not only your life but the fabric of reality itself.

Deathwathers challenges players not just to fight terrifying spirits, but to survive their growing paranoia and fear. Will you be able to face the darkness and restore peace, or will the ghosts claim another victim?

Dev appears to be very responsive to player feedback and fixes bugs quickly.

Gameplay seems really interesting. I've wishlisted it and will follow its development.

Thank you for the recommendation!

Gonna keep my eyes on this. I love Phasmo and have no intention to stop playing, but competition is healthy.

so... its ghost exorcism?
that already exists and works well, been out for three years and has more locations, good gear and even multiple ghosts if you want...
THEN theres rescue contracts and such.

EDIT FOLLOWS:

DeathWatchers is an amazing game with exciting gameplay and a rich world, but what really sets it apart is how much the developers listen to the community. They’re always responsive, actively engaging with players, and regularly updating the game based on feedback. It’s a rare and refreshing experience to see a game evolve so much thanks to its dedicated fanbase.
I tried it but I couldnt get into it. It felt to slow and boring for my taste
Hey, I played the demo with friends and it was really fun. Joined the dev's Discord. We had a lot of critiques and he addressed them all and was very kind. None of us got banned. Huge difference in treatment from Phasmo Discord. I will be buying the game for sure! <3
