Super lazy devs piss me off.
There are patch notes...
But yeah they've been making the recent announcements the last month or so on their web blog - I think they realized they could still do both now... which is fine.
And as for the farmhouse maps... we were only told that they were being made, but at the time of their last announcement they were still in Concept phase - there was no way they'd be fully ready by the end of the year when Point Hope had priority up until June
Why should we have to search for patch notes when they could be announced on Steam?
They announced a while back that all future patch update notes would be on their blog and discord but not on steam. Delays don't enter into it.
Edit: Though it seems they may have rolled that policy back, since the hotfix patch notes do appear on steam. Just not the christmas event patch notes. They probably got a lot of negative feedback over it.
Probably did it with the intention of just having to have update notes in one location for all the different platforms, rather than posting update notes across multiple platforms. Not the greatest move, but probably to be expected from a dev team that has only ever made one game to date.
I know the type, I don't give awards, but points are a hilarious thing to farm... like I have a hundred thousand I never used, and never even look at awards. People should farm things that convert to real world money if they have that much time lol.
Anyway, even if they were farming, at least this thread will have a source for patch notes for other people wondering like I was before digging.
I agree, but also it's probably just a hassle to make posts on twenty different platforms for everyone to see and it takes time. Steam could also be a pain to post for all I know. They do use the feature though, and could show up soon.
