Any tips for a beginner trying to find the haunted room?
I picked up this game recently and have been having a lot of fun, but sometimes I have trouble finding the haunted room. I usually bring thermometer and EMF reader, but sometimes I spend a ton of time wandering around finding nothing.

Sometimes the ghost will bail me out and throw something or set off a car alarm, but is there any way I can be more efficient?

my default is always thermometer but the one you have starting out takes a minute to adjust. the house temp also adjusts after you turn the electricity on if its not already! basically, stand in each room and watch the thermometer for a couple minutes before moving on. you can also look through a video camera while walking around, in night mode you can see ghost orbs (if theres ghost orbs to be had). thermometer is most efficient imo

I agree with this. Mostly. I use the thermometer as I go room to room looking for the bone and cursed object. I will give a room maybe 10 seconds and usually that's enough to see the temp start to drop enough to justify giving it attention. If you're a beginner then I am assuming that you are playing amateur level, so the breaker is turned on when you enter. If playing professional, then the first item of business is getting the breaker turned on. It makes a big difference heating up the house to get the thermometer to quickly show a ghost presence. Hope you are having fun with the game.
On large maps, the parabolic microphone is a decent way to find the ghost relatively quickly.

What also helps is just run in with three sound sensors place them strategically, spread out their radius in the truck (make sure there is little to no overlap) then listen from safety.

Play with ppl who can teach it to you. Also, biggest tip is to get the power on, and whichever room has cold breath after power is on is usually the ghost room. I always start with the video cam in hand to go through the rooms in case i see orbs, dead giveaway on the room. If that doesn't succeed, usually cold breath is the way to locate it once the power is on. Cold breath also works without power being on, but if its snowing, is usually false until power is on.

Hope that helps!

These are some good tips. I have a group that I play with, and they are more experienced with me. But with this, I can help set up faster. Thanks!
Look and listen, too. Ghosts will make sounds (like doors opening) which can give you an idea where they might be. Make sure you observe the maps enough to spot something clearly out of place, as well. Ghosts will throw things and occasionally even move entire objects from one place to another--twice I've had ghosts move that accursed bunny plushie to other rooms.

If you find yourself in a room and there's stuff on the floor that isn't usually there--like plates or cups on the floor of the kitchen--then start looking for other evidence as well.
Finding the ghost through ghost activity is actually the best way to find it. Finding stuff thrown on the floor will help when it does something and you are too far away to hear it as well.

Using a thermo can be fairly helpful. I personally like going in with the video camera, because if it is an orb ghost, you will usually find it extremely quickly and if there is an orb you are 100% in the the right room. It is really about listening and paying attention to your surroundings though.
