Report a translation problem
1) the ghost does not have writing as one of it's evidence types
2) The ghost is hiding that particular evidence from you.
If you're playing on nightmare - unfortunately negative information like that is not reliable because of the second reason, so it is never really safe to cross out an evidence type
On Nightmare/Insanity... you should only mark confirmed evidence, and cross out ghosts due to noticing certain behaviors (a common example is that an Oni cannot use the "airball" event, so seeing one happen rules it out), or because certain ghosts cannot hide certain evidence types due to having unique interactions with them (eg, Deogens cannot hide Spirit Box due to their unique "heavy breathing" response)
