Why does Muling behave quieter during hunting, but he makes noise, screams and behaves like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥?

I'm not sure if this is true, but the game seems to have some kind of weekly cycle for ghost types. Depending on the week, you might get certain ghosts more often. Mind you, this is unconfirmed information.

The banshee scream is not 100% guaranteed, there are other behavior that is almost guaranteed for banshees, like if you hide far away from the ghost room, he might start doing ghost interactions on the room you're located. If you're starting the game and you notice small/minor interactions everywhere you walk through, very likely a banshee. However, they'll only target one player for doing this.

Since interaction isn't guaranteed and neither is ghost events, you can still use a paramicrophone, which will certainly give you paramic interections close to you when located in a room different than the ghost room; if you have more than one player, they all need to move to the same room as you or leave the house for you to do the test.

In other words, you don't need the actual scream to confirm if the ghost is a banshee.

Another test for myling is during a hunt: if you hear doors getting closed and open, but you can't listen to any footsteps, then it's likely a myling. once you start hearing door closing or openning during a hunt, you should always be able to hear footsteps for any ghosts other than myling.

I could calculate the odds, but the question is, do you really would accept, that you're just unlucky? If not, then i don't see any reason to take out my calculator.

And the Myling is quiter in hunts, because that's what it is designed to do. The devs have never made any statements or changes towards it being quieter outsides of hunts, so it's working as intended

Sounds like bad luck tbh. Among my playtime I've certainly had some ghosts appear less than others, but overall they should be roughly a 1/24 chance.

Banshees have a 33% chance to scream instead of giving a generic paramic response. Banshees will only chase the target if they are inside the building. If they are outside, the Banshee behaves like any other ghost.

Mylings are quiet hunters, but will behave like chatterboxes on the paramic. For a quick Myling test, I often just throw my flashlight or handheld electronic on the floor. If I don't hear the ghost at all (minus thrown objects/doors touched) until after my equipment starts glitching, I know it's a Myling.

The only time ghost odds are weighted is when new ghosts are introduced. Beyond that it's just RNG.
