Devs don't want people cheating or using mods that are even considered harmless like reshade. BUT like as in steam offline mode- I am unsure if it still saves your progress and it will detect the cheated profile once it goes back into online mode.
Well, people get warned in the forums here. It's then up to them, if they want to risk a game ban or not, especially since nobody other than the devs can really tell, how their systems work.
then why not ban for wemod instantly? It seems they are ok with single player modding from what I am seeing. Otherwise people would not be using wemod in singleplayer like they do. IDk
Because they give you the benefit of the doubt, that you simply didn't knew, that it runs in the background (for example after using it on another game, where it's allows). Only if you're actively trying to get past that check, that's where you're risking to get banned.
Long answer: Yes, it is in the EULA as a bannable offense. Using mods can corrupt your save file and can cause issues for other players by destabilizing the servers.
