docile demon that never hunts?

has anyone encountered a demon that doesn't hunt?

it was 2nd floor of the cabin on Maple Lodge, nightmare mode. we had two evidence down to myling demon and polty. We're about 20 minutes in, we had ONE ghost event and **NO CRUCIFIXES BURNED**. We're above 25% sanity obj but definitely under 50% sanity because of mirror use.

we narrow it down to myling because of somewhat frequent whispers and no polty power and we thought "hey, demon would've clearly hunted by now" since we have been hunted by demons before within 10 seconds of stepping into the map on multiple occasions. any other time we've had a demon it burns crucifixes like eating candy.

and bam, endscreen says its a demon.

has anyone had a broken demon that 100% does not act like a demon, doesnt hunt, doesnt burn, and doesnt try to scare???

Polite ghosts can definitely happen, Demon or otherwise, it's all up to RNG. Same reasons you can occasionally get, say, a polite Polty that doesn't throw anything.
