Vosk v Windows?
What is the difference between the two? Which is better?

The Windows option uses some of the voice recognition systems of Windows (like the ones used for Cortana), but since not every system has that (for example older windows versions or obviously other OS), they've decided to use another option, which could be included into the game itself.

But since it was added, many people had problems with the new system (which isn't that surprising, since Microsoft can put tons of money into developing its systems, especially for big languages), so now they've added an option for you to choose either of those options.

Without knowing your accent i would guess, that Windows will more likely work better, but ultimately just test both options and stick with the one which works better

What's Vosk in this context? According to the internet, it's either a shoe company or a type of cryptocurrency.

In phasmo, there've been a few updates to the voice recognition. It seems there are two different options for the software used for the voice recognition, Vosk and Windows. I'm wondering which is better or butter :p03:

Windows is by far superior.

It really depends on language. VOSK has superior Dutch recognition for example, Windows doesn't. Or at least that's how pretty much all the Dutch players have described it to me.

Spanish, Japanese, and perhaps Chinese are known to have lacking capability for recognition in VOSK, at least in Phasmo. I could try digging deeper if somebody wishes to know about a particular language, but I'd prefer to do that on Discord side and you can just find out how it works for you anyways. Some languages can have very different regional dialects and so on, as well as technical aspects of their setup like how much background noise you get.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
