So many buttons to interact
I don't know who is behind the design team to this game. But I am so confused when there are 3-4 different key functions for just interacting with objects. You think that your E key would be the key to interact but no. If you want to put a camera on a tripod you have to E click the Tripod down, then F click the camera to install it, then crouch and hit E to pick up such tripod. I cant keep up with how each object has different function keys and its so annoying just trying to figure out how to place down a dots projector, dont even get me started on trying to turn on your flash I feel like I have to have a PHD in Keyboard Mechanics to just open a door. God bless this design team im sure they are working there best to give me some of the most painful and annoying gameplay experiance, if you wanted to piss people off creating this poorly design whack a mole game. Might as well apply a job at BSG and and start designing in Escape from Tarkov since you really just want to make this game an unplayable, un-enjoyable, button mashing panic attack.

Man don't even dare to drive a car, you need to hit the pedal and brakes with your foot while steering the wheel with your arms and paying attention at the road; would be too much for you.

There sure is room for improvement regarding of the controls, but c'mon.

It's pretty easy controls tbh, after a match or two, it kinda just clicks and you know what is what, It takes very little thought after a couple of matches to understand what you need to do...

E = Pick up item
F = Place item / Light candles
Right click = Use Item
Left mouse = Turn video-camera placement / Open truck
Hold Left mouse = Move doors/drawers
T = Light if flashlight is in inventory

I don't really see how to compress the button layout into even less buttons, but feel free to explain a better input logic.
As previously explained it really all ends up making sense. It was a little overwhelming at first, I admit. Some items work differently if placed or thrown. The music box will start a hunt if thrown, but not if placed. Candles go out if thrown but stay lit if placed.

You have different kinds of interaction with items that are incompatible. You have the left click to interact with things in the environment and rightclick to interact with items in your hand. It would be SUPER ANNOYING if you'd have to throw away what ever is in your hand to (for example) turn a light on or off.

What's really bad is the shop and the loadout screen, but that's a very common complaint and I hope they change it in the update, but at this point I even made that work. Stick with it. It's a good game, it just got a steep learning curve.

of course its a good game I enjoy it! I just get so frustrated when each interactable has me sitting like a idiot pressing every button to try and get it to work. It can be very time conusuming if you dont play this game religously or as youre main game

Which items in particular do you have problems with and what keeps you from rebinding the buttons in a way you're used to use in other games? As of now it sounds pretty much like weaponized incompetence, though i'm confused for what you're trying to achieve with it, as you've not explained anything about what should be made better..

The game uses E, F and mouse buttons.
Very common buttons in more or less every game out there

bro hasnt played arma 3 yet, ♥♥♥♥ literally has a PDF file in the game files for buttons,

speaking of which i just checked the games you played and i noticed that you played Destiny 2 which also has a bunch of buttons with abilities and menus that you need to know before being able to properly play the game or your class, i dont seem to understand your point honestly, this game is not even close to being a bad game based on the buttons, there is like quadruple time worse like arma that i have mentioned to where you have to study the games buttons to be able to properly use most things,

Did you ever played Farming Simulator? You need a second keyboard to press all the buttons ;)

You have only stated, that you have issues, but not why (and i would even argue which), especially since you start with complaining about each button being mapped to 3-4 actions, but then just listing tons of examples of actions, whichs each is clearly mapped to a single button. I still don't know, about which additional actions you're talking about here. They had inconsistent button mapping like 8 month ago, but since then it got all remapped to be standardized for all items (as explained by RubyRose as well as the new ingame tutorial)

And you've even explained in your initial post, that you've actually understood it: E for picking up, F for placing down. So why do you understand, how to place a camera, but not a DOTS projector which is literally placed the same way? There's definitely an explanation missing for me.
