personally i think what they are doing and have planned is far better than simply adding a new map that certain people would get bored of just as easily, these mechanic changes, overhauls and refining of what makes this game what it is add far more value in my opinion also just becuase a game has a similar idea or concept doesnt mean they didnt have the same idea on there own nor do they owe anything to the forewarned devs just for simply using said concept as there are thousands of games that did it before forewarned, gaming would be pretty boring if devs didnt make use of good ideas for new games just cause someone else had it first.

upgradable items were already a thing back in the 90s, if not even 80s. Harvest Moon for SNES is the oldest game that i can remember rn in that regard, though i'm sure that many games before that also already included such a feature.

And i would rather want to have more detailed investigations first, so that i can get the most out of the new maps and not the other way round.

Just because Forewarned did it “first” doesn’t mean Phasmophobia isn’t allowed to and give it credit. Forewarned is not the first game to do tiers in general. There are a lot of games that did this.

There are plenty of ghost games that use the ghost names cursed possessions etc.

Also Forewarned isn’t Phasmophobia. Phasmophobia got lucky to release during Covid-19 while Forewarned just couldn’t get popular. It’s a respectable game at least and it’s pretty good.

Just to be fair, this isn't "Phasmo is the best" It's just you sound really entitled when you say things like that and so it's going to get a negative reaction. How you present your argument has a big impact on how people react to it.
So instead of saying "Nice, they stole from Forwarned," which sounds very sarcastic, you could try something like "I hope they do the tiered items in a similar way to Forwarned because I really like that system." That's already a lot more positive and will get you better reactions.

Because to me, the first post in this thread seemed like just another whiny kid who was upset that phasmo isn't exactly the game they think it should be. So it was like, fine, if you don't like the game, don't play it. If you do like it, then don't just complain. Offer constructive ideas to help make the game better or start discussions with the players. The Devs will pick up on good ideas if they match their vision for the game. But in order for that to happen, it really matters how you present your ideas.

Tiered equipment is kinda done differently in Forewarned, yes it’s still upgrading the equipment but from the looks of it, the different tiers of equipment being added to phasmo operate differently from each other instead of just having different statistics.
