If you play Nightmare difficulty, the ghost can kill more than one player per hunt, so if everybody had to pile into the same spot, the ghost can end the hunt right there.
which is also coincidentally the same thing "Friends" are called.
But on the flip side multiplayer is also often harder due to people messing around for a laugh, less self control of environments and general chaos... which i not suggesting is a bad thing, just the way things roll typically lol
They don't need too, even with current system if one player hides well and would normally be safe, but a friend decides to use same spot but forgets to turn of a device off, then they are both dead.
