Microphone randomly stops working after one game

Hello, I have a problem with Phasmophobia and have been having it since I first downloaded the game. When I start up the game everything works perfectly fine, I can talk to my friends in lobby with any voice input option (toggle, voice activation, push to talk, everything works) and it keeps on working as we load into a game and such. The problem is, whenever we finish up one game and go back to the lobby, my microphone just shuts off and refuses to work again. I tried to exit and re-enter the lobby, tried to go into my PC settings to make sure the app still had microphone permissions, tried to check my antivirus to make sure it wasn't blocking Phasmo and tried to change voice input (like, for example, from toggle to push to talk etc) but the only way I can make the microphone start working again is by shutting off the game and restarting it. Does anyone have this same issue?
I have Windows 10 btw. The problem is there both when I use a headset and both when I don't and just use the webcam mic. The problem is restricted to Phasmophobia because when I try to do an audio test on my PC everything works fine and other apps that use the microphone don't have this issue (I had to resort to playing the game while staying on discord with my friends but it destroys the purpose of the game...)

Edit: the issue is there both when I have zero other apps running in the background, and when I have them. I can still hear everyone but they can't hear me, both from local chat and global chat. Have no idea if the ghost hears me because when this issue happens I'm usually back in the lobby and have to shut off the game to get the microphone to work again. Sometimes my microphone will die mid-match but it usually lasts until we are back in lobby and then it dies. When it dies mid-match I just get out of the house and interrupt my investigation from inside and just check the cameras from the truck because staying inside for me is just a free death as I can't communicate at all.

Edit 2: I never alt-tab while playing the game. If I have to check something I do so on my phone as I know some games have issues with alt-tabbing and I never want to risk losing my progress and stuff like that.

Same for me, i had to restart my game every time we finish 1 map :/

It's so dumb, I still have this issue months later and the devs do absolutely nothing to fix it. Afaik we are not the only ones having this issue so I wonder what's holding them from fixing it. Not even uninstalling and doing a clean install fixes it :/

Has there been a solution for this yet? This happens to both my sister (ps5) and me (pc). Works fine 1 match. Get back to lobby neither mic works. Discord works. Restart doesnt work or it will work in lobby but stops when new game starts.
