Thaye that doesn't hunt
Was trying to get a perfect game with my buddy, but the last objective we needed was to prevent a hunt with a cruci. We initiated a hunt with the monkey paw so we could do the incense objective but after that it would only do interactions. We waiting about 10-15 min and kept taunting the ghost with its name and nothing :(

Is that normal for Thayes? I know older ones don't do as many interactions, but to just not hunt (sanity at 0)

Which monkey paw wish did you use?

For a Thaye to hunt.... sometimes at least one person has to be inside the location, but 1 or two sections away from the Haunted Room/Area for it to start a hunt because of their specifications!

I guess you have aged the ghost to the max byt the time you wanted to get hunted.
Even a demon can be "nice" at times and decide to almost not hunt. There is alwasy a random chance that the ghost is doing something. In the case of a hunt you should thin of it like the ghost is rolling a D100(100 side die) and it needs to role below or above a certain number in the case of a thaye it changes as it grows older but for a demon that is 75%.
My guess would be if a demon rolls below 75% and above your sanity it will start a regular hunt that is not the ability. please take note i am not an expert on the game mechanics so i am likely to get at least some parts wrong. Anyway as long the demons keeps rolling above 75% it is not goin to start a regular hunt, that is my guess. Translate this to an old thaye or other non-agresive ghost, the chance of statrting a hunt will reduce as it it less agresive, even if your sanity is below the threshold. The sanity threshold is a number that indicates the POSIBILITY of a hunt not the garantie.
Yes with 0 sanity you will have a lot of hunts, even with a non-agresive ghost..... but once in a while if you get a winning/losing streak where you only hit those high/low numbers and if that happens, no ghost.

For axample I had a solo game once that took over half an hour, could not find all the evidence for some reason and only around 25% sanity I got hunted and it got me and i was suprised like hell that it was a demon.

For the monky paw either play the suny meadows(either full map or restricted) a few times, it has tags with all the wishes on them throughout the map. Or if you don't mind spoilers look them up with online, plenty of site that have a list of available whishes and other usefull information. I am not going to tell the correct whish here as I don't want to ruin it for the explorers out there but it is easy to find the wishes online.

Unless it's changed dramatically since 0.9.0.0, Proximity to a ghost doesn't matter at all except for Shade who won't hunt if you're in the exact same room as the invisible wandering ghost entity. You can be the entire map away on a different floor entirely and a ghost that can hunt will still be able to hunt.

Ultimately RNG is RNG though. Even a 0 sanity demon might just decide not to hunt for 5 minutes if your luck is that ♥♥♥♥♥♥.

The bit about at least one player having to be in the building is accurate though. The ghost will never hunt if no player is in the building.. There's ways to trick it into hunting and slipping outside as the hunt begins, but if no player is in the building that hunt will (or at least should) end within a few seconds since there is no player in the area.
