D.O.T.S. is Broken Again

D.O.T.S. only works half the time now. Doesn't work when hunting Goryo, either. Waited about 5 minutes staring at cams (nobody else in room) and absolutely no D.O.T.S.

Works about 50/50 of the time now, like how it was about 6 months ago after it was fixed. This update may have broken it again, somehow.

Works fine for me. The thing with D.O.T.S is that it isn't an interaction anymore, and the ghosts has to actually enter a dots state and walk through it. This means make sure the dots cover most if not all of the room. Because of this, Tier 1 is especially tedious.

With Goryo, it's harder. This is because the ghost walks towards you hen entering a dots state if your in the same room. If your camping cameras, it is gonna be hard, which is why Goryo is annoying.

Yeah, if using T1, take 2 dots and set them up with a small overlap to get as much area as possible. Try to make sure it's on a table or higher than ground surface and at the edge. It can also take a while for the ghost to actually go into dots form. Had a ghost last night continually walk into the room (confirmed with motion) but not do dots for a few minutes.

T1 dots does actually have a pretty large range but the effect is very faint. It can be easy to miss on a T1 camera...
If i only have T1 dots i use both pens to cover the most area. You get dots from it all the time...unless its goryo...if dots is your missing evidence, pick goryo and watch the screen in the truck for 5 mins to confirm lol

How do you even determine, that it works only half the time? Like you need to look into the code and log some methods functionalities to check for that.

And the last time it was changed was a year ago, when it stopped being an interaction, but rather a seperate activatable state for the ghost. Usually it comes down to if you understand ghost movement or not.

T1 dots go on top of tables and shelves.
T2 dots always go on the floor.
T3 dots go on walls.

Never have T2 dots on walls, never get T1 Dots on the floor, and finally don't have T3 Dots on the floor.

I waited forever for DOTS the other day to confirm goryo. I ended up just eliminating any other possibilities. It was a goryo.

If you're waiting too much for evidencce for too long, it could be either a goryo or a shade, ofc this is given the ghost has not changed rooms.

Again, if it takes too long to give the final piece of evidence, it could be goryo. If it's taking too long, and there's still 1 or more missing piece of evidence, all you have to do is eliminate the shade from the list by doing the candle test and seeing if it can blow up any candles when players are still in the ghost room. Shades can't blow out any candles with players in the ghost room.
