That's because it's a completely dull event.
Which is fair, but also not what I see the most complaints about, or what this one was complaining about. Again, never seen any where else complain about an event just because it's a community one.
You'd all hate Helldivers 2, actually having to work together, so terrible..
At least I personally don't see why it has to be strictly one or the other, it could've been both, have personal rewards and then some big community goal that naturally unlocks from enough people doing their own personal missions.
If you think the other events have required you to be a "sweat" than you must still be playing on easy and actually scared of the ghosts in this game. Yikes.
The whole point of the previous events made it feel like you actually accomplished something, this is just rubbish grind on top of the normal play. The aesthetic is amazing, but the whole unlock as the community does system is such a stretch and not very fun at all.

I played a lot to the game already and its not motivating to know what ever you do, you ll have all rewards if you log in to grab it
