Amateur - Ghost room change in Blood Moon?
I was playing amateur with a new console player to show them the ropes and was in Willow Street. I found ghost orbs in the basement hallway so figured the ghost was there as ghost orbs (I thought) can only be in the ghost room. Later on during the investigation the ghost shows ghost orbs instead inside the room next to it and no longer in the hallway... Am I misunderstanding ghost orbs or does the blood moon allow the ghost to change rooms on lower difficulties? I usually play on Professional/Nightmare depending on my mood so if I have misunderstood ghost orbs all this time then I wonder what else I am missing lmao

Orbs can spawn at the boundary of a room and fly into an adjacent one. I've seen it happen a few times where orbs spawn inside one room and then fly through a wall into a different one.

Edit: or if you use the monkey paw to wish for sanity, it forces a room change regardless of difficulty

All ghosts can change rooms, in order to find new evidences or test any of the old evidences again you'll need to find the new room using a thermometer.

Not on the lower difficulties, and they were on the lowest difficulty. Ghosts changing their room is only something that happens on Professional or higher difficulty, or as a side effect of a specific wish with the monkey paw. And regardless of difficulty, a goryo will not change its room on its own. Though it can still be forced to change with the monkey paw.

Small rooms clustered together are good for causing confusion to newer players. Willow upstairs is probably a perfect map for learning. Big rooms (besides the bathroom), and 3 places to loop.
The downstairs is a good example of ghosts interaction range throwing mud. The ghost can reach all 3 rooms down there from its room. Tanglewood is no different. So many small rooms.

The thing is I am not a new player, I was teaching a new player. I know ghost orbs travel a bit and all of that. I saw it spawn in the hallway, but I guess I could have just misinterpreted what I saw as an orb spawning by just not noticing it before it got halfway through the hallway? Idk it was really strange. I didnt use the monkeys paw or any cursed object, I didnt want to overwhelm the new player with too many mechanics at once so I just avoided them

Thanks everyone for the help, I guess Ill chalk it up to me not noticing the orb the way I thought I did unless it happens again

I heard one of the devs explain to a streamer saying the Blood moon event makes it so the difficulty is up by one. So say you have a difficulty that sets the ghost to 100%, low events etc. The blood moon makes it so its 125% speed and medium events.

I'm not sure on this, its just a guess but maybe it changes a no ghost room changes to low, and that's what you experienced, the rare chance that the ghost changed rooms?
(again they didn't comment on that particularly, its just a something that could be an explanation)

Not Goryo, they will never change room.

As I said three weeks ago, a goryo won't change its favored room on their own. But they can still be forced to change their room with the monkey paw.
