Blood moon event and how unsatisfied...
The blood moon event, hopefully was a 1 off. With it being a "community event" instead of individual based I and the group I play with feel unsatisfied. It felt like a RPG that you grind and grind to get to that final boss and you find out the boss is the goldfish off of earth worm Jim. If this is how events in the future will be, then it's going to be a hard pass from my friends and I.

I agree so much. It was so disappointing that the Devs had to add extra time, just for us to complete the event as a community. Me and my friends worked fairly hard on the event, doing our best to get all the totems photographed, doing the regular hunting etc, to have gotten near the end, and realising there wasn't enough time to get it completed. Yes having the extra time added was great, but i really don't think a community event is a fair way to go. There will be those that put in hours of work to try and get it completed, but then someone can just not bother until the last day, and come in and get the full rewards.

The events worked really well in previous years etc, why can't we just continue with those. They were fun, engaging, and really felt like you were being rewarded for the effort YOU put in to acheive the rewards. Rather than almost failing to get the final trophy because the community as a whole didn't acheive it.

I liked the general idea of a community event but i feel like we should be able to, as individuals, or a group of friends, have some reward for the efforts we put in, versus a whole "if the community doesn't reach the goal, too bad, your efforts don't count for anything"

I will not be participating in future events if they are like this last one, it was sorely disappointing and certainly will not encourage me to play more to earn the rewards, unlike all of the previous events have done. I have enjoyed playing with multiple groups of friends in those, to complete it with them, i enjoyed playing multiple times then, i did not enjoy playing multiple times in this event.

Nope. It will be a regular occurrence. Their biggest content creator confirmed it, yesterday.

The devs don't listen to this kind of feedback. You must have noticed this by now.

Yes to all of this! and then the end result was just the blood moon altar thing getting... bigger and that's it? oh and a trophy without a date on it. that was a let down as well.

It should be a good mix between individual scores and communnity scores I think!

Maybe a little "points contributed" saved on the trophy would be a nice touch. Though, I'm not sure how meaningful that particular stat might be or how well "contributed 0 points" will be received by those logging in to collect the rewards after the milestones are completed.

This was me and my friend. Sorry, but when we saw the event just boils down to taking more pictures with higher difficulty, we were instantly turned off.

Well, it was quite unsatisfying, that you played 1-2 hours on patch day and after that, there was nothing to do to keep playing on this particular update over any other update. Just because it's not to your liking doesn't mean, that everyone thinks that way.

The features of this event were quite basic, so that's definitely something that needs improvement, but the general occurance of these kind of events being more meaningful past the first day is definitely something that's good to have.

Though having some personal goals that need to be reached should definitely be implemented as well.

Anyone else expecting some crazy ♥♥♥♥ to happen when you clicked the blood moon to get the final reward? that was so anti climatic lol

Why didn't it just get huge and explode and have blood go everywhere? Maybe some screams of pain...something. yeah, pretty lame

I hadn't played in months, jumped on with a friend expecting a cool event. Kept trying to complete it. Thought wow it must be hard. (I'm a mediocre player lol). Suddenly went back to lobby and found I just had to click on it to finish it and well .... underwhelming. Apologies to those that did the grinding to just get an inflatable blood ball. Trophy looks cool on display but definitely felt like I didn't do enough to earn it. I did not know it was a community event. I like the idea of a community earned trophy, but not.... this.

I mean, all the events are easy. I don't think you will ever get a 'challenging' event, because casual players who suck at the game need a chance to earn the trophy too. None of the holiday trophies have been about doing hard things, but just showing you were around for whatever wacky event was going on at that time.

People should feel free to give feedback though, since they been trying out different events since the game release. They don't really have preference and been trying many things. I would suggest on discord, since they don't often read these chats.

The previous events didn't have really have much going on with them either. You could literally get them done in less than an hour and call it a day. As far as I'm concerned, this event wasn't any worse or better than the previous ones

I totally agree. While I can appreciate the spirit (pun intended) of community events, the planning and execution needs to represent that specific gaming community. In this case, the community has spoken fairly decisively and said they prefer individual rewards or recognition. In the end, I didn't pay anything extra for this event, so my comments are tethered to the fact that I spent only $15 dollars on a game that I have 700 hours of game time in. regardless of updates, bugs, events, etc....one of the best value games I have ever owned.

The problem with this event was you get burned out and at the start many gave up as they did not see the stats go up at all. as so many points were needed. then the changed it and it was suddenly from 2% to over 50% that lasted till we reached the second milestone. when they had to change it again. it was not rewarding
Crimson Bort Nov 14, 2024 @ 12:15pm
I say if they do this again for Xmas we all actively try to fail. That would actually be a challenge since they're gonna tweak times and numbers to make sure the goal is met anyways.
P1nkLem0n4d3 Nov 14, 2024 @ 12:19pm
The changing of the stats was the main problem. I think if the event had predicted a good amount of what would happen, and stuck to it whether players met the goal or not, would of been way better.
